“Before coming to Heartstream I was a very sad and lonely woman. Our marriage was ending. I had no hope. Something had to happen at Heartstream if we were going to go on in life.” At the end of the program this disconsolate wife wrote: “My personal needs were met in ways I never expected. I feel a sense of sureness in my own life now….as if my roots are planted back in the ground after being uplifted from a very bad storm. Everyone on the staff was so warm and friendly. In 14 days you can’t expect things to be perfect. My husband and I still have things to work out, but we are going to work at it. The Lord uses this ministry for healing.” Her husband wrote: “I never thought good things could happen so quickly. It is like my wife and I are falling in love all over again.” (This is after 30+ years of marriage and 20+ years in missions.) “I felt exhausted from my life in China. God met me and far exceeded my expectations.” “This is my first time to attend such a program geared towards helping cross-cultural workers… This helped me to focus on myself and put me in an environment that was not giving but receiving from colleagues that understood our needs.” “I think it is really rare to find a ministry that reaches out and serves us so well. They really understand our needs (having been there themselves)…. I’m going back to my ministry refreshed and renewed.”
